POSITION OF NOBLE GASSES IN PERIODIC TABLE

Atomic masses of the Noble gases were found to be b than those of group I elements, but more than those of group VII elements. Hence they easily fitted before group 1 in the Mendeleef’s table without changing the position of their groups. Their groups were called "Zero Group"
